Editorial Intern
Organizational Overview
Centri Tech is a social impact company that leverages technology to help everyone reach their aspirations by raising their standard of living and quality of life. Centri Tech achieves this through the installation of high-quality broadband connectivity in low-income housing, and through the implementation of technology-based interventions such as our resident services offering, called CentriLife.
CentriLife is a newly-launched online platform that delivers life-enhancing resources and tools to residents of affordable housing communities to help them build wealth, improve health, and connect to quality jobs. It also is a tool for resident services managers and property managers to connect and communicate efficiently with residents in their properties.
CentriLife aggregates the best content available from around the web, mobile applications, and other media sources; makes it actionable so that residents can address immediate needs easily using a variety of online and offline methods; localizes content by providing information on services, organizations, and relief opportunities within the users’ geographical area; and makes information accessible to a wide content and written for limited literacy levels in both English and Spanish.
Position Overview
As Editorial Intern, you will play a substantive role in curating, and maintaining high-quality content on the CentriLife platform, including writing and editing content that promotes life-enhancing activities, researching and vetting digital content (websites, mobile apps, videos, etc.) for inclusion on CentiLife, identifying potential content partnerships to enrich platform offerings, and helping to develop and execute on social media strategies that promote audience engagement.
Centri Tech Intern Program
Centri Tech, a new social enterprise that uses the power of technology to improve lives, seeks interns for its Summer, Fall, and Winter Sessions.
Our internships are fully remote, paid positions, and available for a minimum of 20 hours/week and a maximum of 40 hours/week during the Summer Session, and between 10-20 hours per week during the Fall and Winter sessions. Rate for undergrads is $15/hr and for graduate level students $18/hr.
Successful candidates will demonstrate an orientation toward social impact and innovation, strong writing ability, strong research and analytical skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a high degree of self-motivation, and ability to collaborate and work as part of a diverse team. Applicants with academic and practical backgrounds in the areas of public policy, community development, social media/digital communications, finance, business development, data analysis, and service are preferred. Applicants with backgrounds in computer science and software development who are seeking to build their experience with human applications of technology are also encouraged to apply.
